Georgia’s County Association Elects Commissioner Cindy Jones Mills to Board of Managers

District 4 Commissioner Cindy Jones Mills has been elected to serve an unexpired term on the 2022-2023 Association County Commissioners of Georgia (ACCG) Board of Managers.

Mills will serve the board as one of four National Association of Counties (NaCo) Board Representatives.

“In all my years of office, I have served on the ACCG Policy Council, and it has taught me so much about advocating for the benefit of your county and its citizens,” said Mills. “I believe this appointment is a natural progression that will hopefully bring the knowledge of the state to the federal level so clearer lines of communication of needs will occur. I truly appreciate being afforded this opportunity to serve our state and county. I am eager to work hard for everyone.”

Previously, Mills has served on the ACCG Policy Council, and she has performed in several leadership roles such as an At-Large Representative on the Board of Managers and chair and vice chair for the General County Government Policy Committee.

As a NaCo Representative, Mills will help advocate for Georgia counties on federal policy issues and legislation, working alongside other ACCG board members to lead the association and guide policies during the next year.

“On behalf of the association staff and our membership, I would like to congratulate Commissioner Mills on this new position on the Board of Managers,” said ACCG Executive Director Dave Wills. “Elected by their peers, the ACCG Board of Managers is a group of dynamic leaders that serve as decision makers on behalf of our organization.”

Formed in 1914, ACCG works on behalf of county officials and their communities by providing public policy and legislative advocacy, leadership development, civic and community engagement initiatives, insurance and retirement programs that specialize in local government needs and other cost-saving programs.
