County-Operated Lake Lanier Parks and Campgrounds Open for Summer
May 22 - UPDATE: The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) has announced the following immediate Corps-operated Lake Lanier park/boat ramp closures in Forsyth County:
- Two Mile Creek Park
- Long Hollow Park
- Keith Bridge Park
The following Corps-operated park/boat ramps remain open:
- Tidwell Park
- Little Ridge Park
- Vanns Tavern Park
- West Bank Park
- Lower Pool West Park
All Lake Lanier Parks operated by Forsyth County Parks and Recreation (Charleston Park, Mary Alice Park, Six Mile Creek Park, Young Deer Creek Park, Bald Ridge Campground, Sawnee Campground, and Shady Grove Campground) also remain open.

May 20 - Forsyth County Parks & Recreation parks, boat ramps and campgrounds on Lake Lanier are OPEN amidst potential closures of U.S. Army Corps of Engineers operated parks on Lake Lanier.
Below is a list of County operated facilities on Lake Lanier, all open:
- Charleston Park
- Mary Alice Park
- Six Mile Creek Park
- Young Deer Creek Park
- *Bald Ridge Campground
- *Sawnee Campground
- *Shady Grove Campground
*Reservation required (not for day use)
The following are U.S. Army Corps of Engineers-operated parks in Forsyth County (any closures to these facilities will be communicated by the Corps):
- Tidwell Park
- Little Ridge Park
- Two Mile Creek Park
- Vanns Tavern Park
- Keith Bridge Park
- Long Hollow Park
- West Bank Park
With any closures of the above Corps parks on Lake Lanier, visitors at Forsyth County’s parks/ramps on Lake Lanier can anticipate higher than usual attendance, particularly over Memorial Day weekend.
PLEASE NOTE: Army Corps of Engineers park passes are not accepted at Forsyth County operated campgrounds/facilities that require paid access.
