District 2 Public Health: Stray Cat Tests Positive for Rabies in Forsyth County

Forsyth County Environmental Health was recently notified byDistrict 2 Public Health officials that a stray cat in the BriarwoodTrail/Grove Park Lane area of Forsyth County bit and scratched three humans andone family dog. The cat later tested positive for rabies.

Problems of this nature often occur when people attempt tofeed or rescue stray domesticated dogs and cats. If you have stray animals onyour property call animal control. People should always avoid contact withunfamiliar dogs, cats and wild animals.
