Board of Commissioners Proclaims April 2024 as Child Abuse Prevention and Awareness Month

The Forsyth County Board of Commissioners proclaimed the month of April 2024 as Child Abuse Prevention and Awareness Month at a recent work session on Tuesday, April 23.

According to the Child Welfare Information Gateway, in 2022, nearly 3.1 million children received either an investigation response or alternative response, and approximately 1.9 million children received prevention services in the United States.

During Child Abuse Prevention and Awareness Month, the Board encourages all adults to participate in trainings to prevent child abuse in our community.
