Board of Commissioners Congratulate Winners of Fire Department’s 2023 Safety Poster Contest

During their May 4 meeting, the Board of Commissioners recognized the winners of the Fire Department’s annual Safety Poster Contest.

The annual Safety Poster Contest invites third grade students in Forsyth County to submit original posters that illustrate one of three safety topics. This year’s topics included Get Low and Go, Electrical Safety and Outdoor Safety.

With approximately 200 posters submitted, winning posters were selected based on clarity of message and design, originality, artistic quality, and relevance to the chosen safety topic.

This year’s winners were:

  • Shreya Bandi from Johns Creek Elementary –Winner of the Get Low and Go category.
  • Baylor Burks from Vickery Creek Elementary- Runner-up of the “Get Low and Go” category.
  • Neethi Manjunath from Johns Creek Elementary– Winner of the Outdoor Safety category.
  • Olivia Fisher from Sawnee Elementary – Runner-up of the Outdoor Safety category.
  • Presley Vance from Settles Bridge Elementary– Winner of the Electrical Safety category.
  • Karson Quinones from Vickery Creek Elementary–Runner-up of the Electrical Safety category.

The Board congratulates the winners on the excellence to which they used their creativity to help educate their peers and the community at large about the importance of safety.
