THE 2006 INTERNATIONAL MECHANICAL CODE AS AMENDED BY THE GEORGIA DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY AFFAIRS READS AS FOLLOWS:

804.3.8 Mechanial draft systems for manually fired appiances and fireplaces. A smoke detector powered by the building wiring and equipped wth a battery back-up shall be installed in the room with the appliance or fireplace.

The project, which will impact 5 miles of roadway, is scheduled to be complete July 31, 2010.
