Progress on the widening of State Route 400 in Forsyth County continues! The first section of the new SR 400 southbound lane – between SR 141 and McFarland Parkway – is now open to traffic.    Construction will continue widening SR 400 from SR 369/Browns Bridge Road to SR 141/Peachtree Parkway. Weather permitting, that section is expected to open to traffic in late spring 2018. Progress on the widening of SR 400 in Forsyth County continues! A new, nearly 1-mile section of SR 400 northbound between SR 306 and SR 369 is now open to traffic. Because work on the bridge over Lake Lanier is still underway, motorists should consider the new left lane as a long turn lane for those accessing SR 369. New Segment of SR 400 Now Open to Northbound Motorists
On March 1, Forsyth County motorists got their first chance to try out a portion of the new northbound lane on SR 400 when GDOT removed construction barrels from approximately 1,000 feet of roadway. Roadwork continues from just north of the Bald Ridge Marina Road overpass to SR 369. The widening of the northbound segment of SR 400 has an expected completion date of late May or early June, about the same time the southbound widening is set to begin.
