Animal Control

Animal Control services are a function of the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies assigned to Animal Control have the duty to enforce state laws as well as county ordinances which include failure to vaccinate, animals at large, animal cruelty, barking dogs, and dangerous dog classifications. This unit has five deputies and one sergeant assigned who work Monday through Friday between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. During spring and summer months, hours of operation are extended to 7 p.m. After scheduled hours, on weekends, and holidays, Uniform Patrol deputies respond to Animal Control calls. An Animal Control deputy is also on call for emergency situations that occur after normal hours.

To request services from an Animal Control deputy, please contact the Dispatch Center at 770.781.3087. For emergency situations, please dial 911.
