Over the past year, Forsyth County has implemented changes designed to bring business into the County, as well as providing assistance to new and existing businesses as they navigate the permitting processes. To attract new businesses, Forsyth County has updated its Economic Development Ordinance and adopted a Schedule of Criteria for the first time. Public input meetings to discuss proposed plans for a 100-mile greenway along the Chattahoochee River will be held Saturday, June 22 and Sunday, June 23.  The Chattahoochee River Greenway Study is a proposed project that would create a greenway stretching the length of the river from Buford Dam in Forsyth County to Chattahoochee Bend State Park in Newnan, GA. The study is commissioned by the Atlanta Regional Commission, the Trust for Public Land, Cobb County and the City of Atlanta. January Planning Commission Meeting Cancelled
Items postponed to Feb. meeting The Forsyth County Planning Commission regular meeting scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on Jan. 29, 2019, has been cancelled due to inclement weather.  All orders of business that were scheduled to be heard on this date will be postponed to the next regular Planning Commission meeting, which will be at 6:30 p.m. on Feb. 26, 2019. Planning Commission meetings are held in Suite 220 of the Forsyth County Administration Building (110 E. Main St.).

Three August sessions offered to accommodate residents’ schedules Forsyth County is seeking input on residential design standards in the southeast portion of the county.  The approximate boundaries for this area are Georgia 400 to the west, McGinnis Ferry Rd. to the south and the Highway 20 vicinity to the north. Meetings to discuss potential ordinance modifications to be held Aug. 15 and Aug. 22   Two public input meetings will be held in August to continue the public engagement process for the review of the county’s tree ordinance and regulations pertaining to mass grading.
