The Forsyth County Administration Building (110 E. Main Street) will open to residents, on an appointment and digital waitlist basis, beginning June 1. To enhance the customer service experience with residents while promoting social distancing, Forsyth County will be utilizing WaitWhile, a free appointment and waitlist system. Forsyth County Unveils Interactive Online Services for Permit and License Applications
New software to streamline online application and permit processes Forsyth County has launched a new process for customers to submit applications online for building permits, business and alcohol licenses, inspections and land development plans. The EnerGov Customer Self Service software will replace Govern, eStatus and ePlan Solutions software on the County’s website, Forsythco.com.   “EnerGov provides the opportunity to increase automation and improve communication with our customers,” said Forsyth County Manager Eric Johnson. “Notably for our development community, EnerGov eliminates the electronic submittal fees for those submittals that previously required one, such as commercial building plans, land disturbance permits and plats.”   After making a submission online, applicants will be able to view the status ...

Over the past year, Forsyth County has implemented changes designed to bring business into the County, as well as providing assistance to new and existing businesses as they navigate the permitting processes. To attract new businesses, Forsyth County has updated its Economic Development Ordinance and adopted a Schedule of Criteria for the first time. Public input meetings to discuss proposed plans for a 100-mile greenway along the Chattahoochee River will be held Saturday, June 22 and Sunday, June 23.  The Chattahoochee River Greenway Study is a proposed project that would create a greenway stretching the length of the river from Buford Dam in Forsyth County to Chattahoochee Bend State Park in Newnan, GA. The study is commissioned by the Atlanta Regional Commission, the Trust for Public Land, Cobb County and the City of Atlanta.
