Forsyth County Animal Shelter to Participate in Pet Adoption Event
The Forsyth County Animal Shelter will participate in the November to Remember pet adoption event hosted by All Pets Emergency & Referral Center (6460 Hwy. 9 North) between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 3.  Shelter animals will be available for adoption at the event and all animals that find their forever homes will receive a starter pack with food, leash, collar and surprises. Pet related consignment items will also be for sale with proceeds being donated to various pet rescue organizations.  A veterinarian will be on site to answer any questions and concerns regarding pet care.

Cynthia Iacopella has been named manager of the Forsyth County Animal Shelter and will join the county staff on June 19. As manager of Forsyth County’s animal shelter, Iacopella will supervise, coordinate and manage the daily activities of the animal shelter personnel. She will be responsible for the oversight of animal care, upkeep of the animal shelter facility, the animal adoption process and the shelter’s community outreach programs.   Iacopella brings to the position more than twenty years in the animal welfare industry. Forsyth County Offices and Facilities Closing at 3 p.m. Friday; Closed Saturday and Sunday
January 6, 2017: Due to current weather conditions, all general Forsyth County government offices will close today at 3 p.m. This early closure includes county government offices, the Forsyth County Courthouse and Courthouse Annex, the Animal Shelter, recycling convenience centers, Senior Services, and Forsyth County Parks & Recreation’s indoor and gated facilities. All Parks & Recreation programs and activities are cancelled.   Additionally, Forsyth County Parks & Recreation’s indoor and gated facilities, the recycling convenience centers and the Animal Shelter will be closed to the public Saturday and Sunday.
