The start of daylight saving time is a good occasion to replace batteries The Forsyth County Fire Department reminds citizens to change the batteries in their smoke and carbon monoxide alarms when they set their clocks forward an hour this Sunday, March 12. The Forsyth County Fire Department suggests that if the batteries in your smoke and carbon monoxide alarms are serviceable, they should be changed every six to twelve months. New Segment of SR 400 Now Open to Northbound Motorists
On March 1, Forsyth County motorists got their first chance to try out a portion of the new northbound lane on SR 400 when GDOT removed construction barrels from approximately 1,000 feet of roadway. Roadwork continues from just north of the Bald Ridge Marina Road overpass to SR 369. The widening of the northbound segment of SR 400 has an expected completion date of late May or early June, about the same time the southbound widening is set to begin. Ribbon cutting ceremony held to commemorate improvements   Improvements were recently completed at Forsyth County’s Chattahoochee Pointe, a 119-acre park located at 5790 Chattahoochee Pointe Drive in south Forsyth County. The improvements include extending the park’s existing trail to create a 5K trail and adding a new restroom building.
