Shields Joins Forsyth County as Director Of Communications
Forsyth County government has hired a director to lead its Communications Department. Karen Shields will join the county staff as director of communications on July 9. This position oversees county publications, media relations, county social media pages and internal communications.  Shields brings to the position more than 20 years of professional experience in the field of communications. Most recently she served as the communications manager and public information officer for the Gwinnett County Department of Water Resources. Forsyth Named State’s Healthiest County for Sixth Consecutive Year

Forsyth Named State’s Healthiest County for Sixth Consecutive Year
For the sixth consecutive year, Forsyth County has been named the healthiest county in Georgia. The distinction comes as part of the annual County Health Rankings & Roadmaps study initiated by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute. The rankings are based on two types of measures: how long people live and how healthy people feel while alive. For more detailed information on the study, visit www.countyhealthrankings.org.
