Safe Kids Forsyth and the Forsyth County Fire Department are partnering during Child Passenger Safety Week (Sept. 23-29) to help ensure children are riding safely throughout the year. From 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 29, Safe Kids Forsyth will host a free car seat checkup event at Old Navy (2255 Market Pl. Blvd.) in Cumming.  Residents can also schedule an appointment to have their child’s safety seat inspected and installed by a Child Passenger Safety Technician anytime year-round at a participating Forsyth County fire station. Forsyth County Fire Department Receives Homeland Security Grant for Additional Staffing
Grant to assist in funding the hiring of 12 firefighters  The Forsyth County Fire Department has been awarded a grant from the Department of Homeland Security/FEMA to support the staff cost for a new fire station in the western portion of the county. Grant awarded by Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation The Forsyth County Fire Department will have additional equipment for their rescue personnel, thanks to a grant they received from the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation.
