The Forsyth County Accounting Department is the operations division of the Forsyth County Finance Department. The Accounting Department uses the county's automated accounting system to process all payments authorized by county staff. The Accounting Department also maintains the fixed assets property records, and is responsible for the general ledger. The department provides monthly operational reports and data analysis for other county deparments. The Accounting department also assists in the annual comprehensive audit.
The department implements and maintains sound principles of governmental accounting and provides support services to all departments of Forsyth County government. This division also maintains Forsyth County's official financial records, and is responsible for the development of proper internal control measures and administration of grants.
