Emergency & Weather Alerts

Stay informed during emergency and severe weather events by signing up to receive alerts from Forsyth County government. Residents can elect to receive the time-sensitive notifications via email, telephone call and/or text message. There is no cost to sign up to receive these alerts, but phone usage or text charges may apply.

The alerts will be sent out for three severe weather situations (severe thunderstorm warnings, flash flood warnings and tornado warnings) as well as for emergency situations such as public safety issues or important water notifications from the Forsyth County Water and Sewer Department.

All users are reminded that the county government does not retain username and password information. Users must make any updates to their information directly through the Swift911 sign-up page or app.

Outdoor Severe Weather Sirens

Forsyth County has 17 outdoor severe weather sirens located throughout the county to notify residents that severe weather is in the area. Severe weather sirens are only designed to be heard by individuals outside during severe weather. Residents should have other means of receiving severe weather notification when located inside a structure.

Monthly testing of the audible siren will take place at noon on the first Wednesday of every month, weather permitting. In the event Forsyth County is placed under a tornado warning, the sirens will be activated.
