Adoption Fee and Details

The adoption fee is $85 per animal.

Animals may be adopted as early as 8 weeks of age. Forsyth County Animal Shelter regulations require that animals not be altered until 12 weeks of age and therefore those that are between the ages of 8 and 12 weeks may only be adopted by Forsyth County residents – with alteration occurring after the adoption and at the expense of the new owner. Once an animal reaches 12 weeks and is altered by the shelter, they are available for adoption by both county residents and those outside of the county.
