Comp Plan and Transportation Projects Update

As a result of Thursday night’s approval of the transmittal of the Comprehensive Plan to DCA, population projections were lowered by 30% or more. The population projections have gone from 450,000-500,000 down to a population of approximately 375,000.

Events Around the County

Thank you for reading the first Commission District 3 blog! We have some exciting events happening this week. Although these aren’t specific to District 3, Fire Station 6 on Brookwood Road just opened yesterday and will serve the citizens in the south part of our community. Also, the new Lanierland Park will open tomorrow. The ribbon cutting will be held at 10 a.m. and the park is located at 6115 Jot-Em-Down Road. Construction has started on the south bound lane of GA400 with the bridge completion this summer. We should see this project completed by the end of the year.
