The May 26, 9 a.m. Forsyth County Finance Committee meeting will be held via teleconference, pursuant to O.C.G.A. 50-14-1(g).  The meeting will be live streamed on the County’s YouTube channel: tvforsyth.com.

The following Executive Orders and guidelines have been issued regarding COVID-19:

April 30:  Executive Order “Renewal of Public Health State of Emergency." To view the order, click here.

April 23: Statewide Executive Order “Reviving a Healthy Georgia.” To view the order, click here

April 21: The Georgia Board of Cosmetology and Barbers issued safety guidelines for reopening. More information is available here.

INFORMATION BY DEPARTMENT

Forsyth County Board of Commissioners Chairman Laura Semanson signed a declaration of local emergency, effective March 18, 2020. The declaration calls for all available resources of the county to be used as necessary to cope with the impact of COVID-19 on Forsyth County.

On March 20, 2020,Chairman Semanson signed an urgent declaration regarding gatherings.  The statement reads in part, “ . . . all Forsyth County citizens and residents are requested, in the most urgent terms, to avoid holding, sponsoring, or attending non-mandatory assemblies or gatherings of 10 or more individuals for so long as Forsyth County remains in a state of locally declared emergency.”  Click here to view the full text of the declaration.

On March 27, Chairman Semanson signed additional Declarations and Orders.in response to COVID-19.  The full text is available here.
 •           Closure of dine-in and/or outdoor/patio services at restaurants
•            Suspension of certain purchasing policies, specifically related to COVID-19
•            Suspension of penalties and fines related to Occupation Taxes
•            Allowance for online public bid openings
