Forsyth County Response to COVID-19

The Forsyth County Board of Voter Registrations and Elections will hold their regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, April 7, 2020 at 9:00 a.m., via teleconference pursuant to O.C.G.A.  50-14-1(g).  The meeting will be livestreamed on the County’s website and on TV Forsyth, Comcast channel 23 and AT&T channel 99.  For more information, click here.

Governor Brian Kemp has issued a statewide Shelter in Place order. Forsyth County Board of Commissioners Chairman Laura Semanson signed a declaration of local emergency, effective March 18, 2020. The declaration calls for all available resources of the county to be used as necessary to cope with the impact of COVID-19 on Forsyth County.

On March 20, 2020,Chairman Semanson signed an urgent declaration regarding gatherings.  The statement reads in part, “ . . . all Forsyth County citizens and residents are requested, in the most urgent terms, to avoid holding, sponsoring, or attending non-mandatory assemblies or gatherings of 10 or more individuals for so long as Forsyth County remains in a state of locally declared emergency.”  Click here to view the full text of the declaration.

•            Suspension of certain purchasing policies, specifically related to COVID-19
