Governor Brian Kemp has issued a statewide Shelter in Place order. The order goes into effect at 6 p.m. on Friday, April 3 and will last through 11:59 p.m. on Monday, April 13. Forsyth County Board of Commissioners Chairman Laura
Semanson signed a declaration of local emergency, effective March 18, 2020. The declaration calls for
all available resources of the county to be used as necessary to cope with the
impact of COVID-19 on Forsyth County.
On March 20, 2020,Chairman Semanson signed an urgent declaration regarding gatherings. The statement reads in part, “ . . . all Forsyth County citizens and residents are requested, in the most urgent terms, to avoid holding, sponsoring, or attending non-mandatory assemblies or gatherings of 10 or more individuals for so long as Forsyth County remains in a state of locally declared emergency.” Click here to view the full text of the declaration.
