Public Hearing to Consider Approval of a Settlement Agreement between Sierra Lake Holding, Inc. and Forsyth County, Georgia

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

 Notice is hereby given that on Thursday, April 20, 2023, at 5:00 p.m., the Forsyth County Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing to consider approval of a Settlement Agreement between Sierra Lake Holding, Inc. and Forsyth County, Georgia, that, if approved, will settle claims between the parties and otherwise grant zoning and land use-based entitlements and variances on 39.44 acres at Matt Highway and Sierra Lake Drive, otherwise known as Forsyth County tax parcel 190-014 and a portion of tax parcel 190 216.  If approved, the Settlement Agreement will authorize the property to be built-out with 9,000 sq. ft. minimum lot sizes, a minimum lot width of 60 feet, a maximum building height of 35 feet, and render inapplicable UDC 18-12.1 and Section 34-34(c)(20) of the County Code regarding undisturbed areas of separation. The public hearing will be held in the Commissioners’ Meeting Room, Suite 220 of the Forsyth County Administration Building at 110 East Main Street, Cumming, Georgia 30040.  A copy of the proposed Settlement Agreement is on file with the clerk in the Forsyth County Administration Building at 110 East Main Street, Cumming, Georgia 30040 and will be made available upon request.  All Forsyth County residents and any other affected and/or interested persons are invited and encouraged to attend.

Public Hearing Regarding Possible Extension of Conservation Subdivision Moratorium

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING REGARDING CONSERVATION SUBDIVISION MORATORIUM

Notice is hereby given that on Thursday, April 20, 2023, at 5:00 p.m., the Forsyth County Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing to consider the possible extension and/or adoption of a one-hundred eighty (180) day moratorium on the acceptance of rezoning applications seeking to rezone property to a “conservation subdivision” zoning designation or zoning condition amendment applications seeking to amend conditions on an existing “conservation subdivision.” This moratorium, if approved and/or extended, will continue for one-hundred eighty (180) days while modifications to Chapter 19 of the County’s Unified Development Code related to conservation subdivisions are prepared, reviewed and adopted. The public hearing will be held in the Commissioners’ Meeting Room, Suite 220 of the Forsyth County Administration Building at 110 East Main Street, Cumming, Georgia 30040.  All Forsyth County residents and any other affected and/or interested persons are invited and encouraged to attend.

April 20, 2023 The Board voted unanimously to approve a Resolution to Impose/Extend a Moratorium on the Receipt of Zoning Applications or Zoning Condition Amendment Applications Related to Conservation Subdivisions as presented by Counsel.

Public Hearing to Consider Amendments to the County Alcohol Ordinance

 Notice is hereby given that on Thursday, April 20, 2023, at 5:00 p.m., the Forsyth County Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing in order to consider an amendment to the Forsyth County Alcohol Ordinance, otherwise known as Forsyth County Ordinance No. 68 or Article I, Chapter 6 of the Forsyth County Code of Ordinances.  The public hearing will be held in the Commissioners’ Meeting Room, Suite 220 of the Forsyth county Administration Building.  The purpose of the public hearing shall be for public review and comment concerning proposed modifications to the alcohol ordinance to amend language and definitions that pertain to collecting alcohol excise tax, incorporate Mixed-Use Center Districts (MCD), and for other purposes.  A copy of the proposed amendment is on file with the Business License Department located at the Forsyth County Administration Building at 110 East Main Street, Suite 130, Cumming, Georgia 30040 and will be made available upon request.  All Forsyth County residents and any other affected and/or interested persons are invited and encouraged to attend.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
Notice is hereby given that on Thursday, May 18, 2023, at 5:00 p.m., the Forsyth County Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing in order to consider an amendment to the Forsyth County Alcohol Ordinance, otherwise known as Forsyth County Ordinance No. 68 or Article I, Chapter 6 of the Forsyth County Code of Ordinances. The public hearing will be held in the Commissioners' Meeting Room, Suite 220 of the Forsyth County Administration Building. The purpose of the public hearing shall be for public review and comment concerning proposed modifications to the alcohol ordinance to amend language and definitions that pertain to collecting alcohol excise tax, incorporate Mixed-Use Center Districts (MCD), amend exemption to allow for consumption at specialty wine markets, and for other purposes. A copy of the proposed amendment is on file with the Business License Department located at the Forsyth County Administration Building at 110 East Main Street, Suite 130, Cumming, Georgia 30040 and will be made available upon request. All Forsyth County residents and any other affected and/or interested persons are invited and encouraged to attend.

May 18, 2023 The Board voted to hold an additional Public Hearing regarding amendments to the Alcohol Ordinance, otherwise known as Forsyth County Ordinance 68, during the Regular Meeting/Public Hearings of June 15, 2023.  Motion carried with four members in favor (John, Semanson, Mills, and Hill) and one member absent (Levent).

Public Hearing to Consider County Alcohol Ordinance Revisions

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

Notice is hereby given that on Thursday, June 15, 2023, at 5:00 p.m., the Forsyth County Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing in order to consider an amendment to the Forsyth County Alcohol Ordinance, otherwise known as Forsyth County Ordinance No. 68 or Article I, Chapter 6 of the Forsyth County Code of Ordinances. The public hearing will be held in the Commissioners' Meeting Room, Suite 220 of the Forsyth County Administration Building. The purpose of the public hearing shall be for public review and comment concerning proposed modifications to the alcohol ordinance to amend language and definitions that pertain to collecting alcohol excise tax, incorporate Mixed-Use Center Districts (MCD), amend exemption to allow for consumption at specialty wine markets, confirming no Sunday on-premise consumption without satisfying the requisite prepared meal or food ratio requirements, and for other purposes. A copy of the proposed amendment is on file with the Business License Department located at the Forsyth County Administration Building at 110 East Main Street, Suite 130, Cumming, Georgia 30040 and will be made available upon request. Public Hearing to Consider Truck Route Ordinance

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

Notice is hereby given that on Thursday, July 6, 2023, at 5:00 p.m., the Forsyth County Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing to consider an amendment to the Forsyth County Through Truck Traffic Code, otherwise known as Forsyth County Ordinance 89. The public hearing will be held in the Commissioners’ Meeting Room, Suite 220 of the Forsyth County Administration Building at 110 East Main Street, Cumming, Georgia 30040.  The purpose of the public hearing shall be for public review and comment concerning a proposed modification to the established state and county truck routes to repeal conflicting ordinances; and for other purposes. A copy of the proposed amendment is on file with the clerk in the Forsyth County Administration Building at 110 East Main Street, Cumming, Georgia 30040 and will be made available upon request.  All Forsyth County residents and any other affected and/or interested persons are invited and encouraged to attend.
