NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

 Notice is hereby given that on Thursday, September 2, 2021 at 5:00 p.m., the Forsyth County Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing to consider approval of a Settlement Agreement between Alex C. Kliros, et al. v. Tom Brown, et al., Civil Action File No. 19CV1553-2, a civil action pending in the Forsyth County Superior Court, that will settle claims between the parties and otherwise impose zoning and land use-based entitlements, variances, restrictions, and other obligations on the parties and on 90.37 acres located near State Route 141 and South Clement Road, otherwise known to as Forsyth County tax parcels 110-010, 110-011, and 110-012. The public hearing will be held in the Commissioners’ Meeting Room, Suite 220 of the Forsyth County Administration Building at 110 East Main Street, Cumming, Georgia 30040. A copy of the proposed Settlement Agreement and associated concept plan are available for review on the County’s website at www.forsythco.com and are on file with the clerk in the Forsyth County Administration Building at 110 East Main Street, Cumming, Georgia 30040 and will be made available upon request. All Forsyth County residents and any other affected and/or interested persons are invited and encouraged to attend.

UPDATE: The Board of Commissioners held the third public hearing for the proposed new ordinance on Thursday, July 22, 2021 and voted to adopt the ordinance as amended. 

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

Notice is hereby given that on Thursday, July 22, 2021 at 5:00 p.m., the Forsyth County Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing to receive input regarding proposed Forsyth County Ordinance 129, also known as the Short-Term Rental Ordinance. The public hearing will be held in the Commissioners’ Meeting Room, Suite 220 of the Forsyth County Administration Building at 110 East Main Street, Cumming, Georgia 30040. The purpose of the public hearing shall be for public review and comment concerning a proposed Ordinance to regulate properties otherwise authorized for short-term rental, to include appointment of a registered agent; to impose certain requirements and restrictions regarding the use of properties for short-term rental; to establish an annual licensing system and a fee for same; to provide for enforcement and penalties for violations; to repeal conflicting ordinances; and for other purposes. All Forsyth County residents and any other affected and/or interested persons are invited and encouraged to attend.

UPDATE: The Board of Commissioners held the first public hearing on Thursday, September 2, 2021 for the proposed ordinance amendment where no formal action was taken by the board. 

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

Notice is hereby given that on Thursday, October 7, 2021 at 5:00 p.m., the Forsyth County Board of Commissioners will hold a second public hearing to consider an amendment to the Forsyth County Code, Ordinance 90 or Section 2-1, Article I, Chapter 2 of the Forsyth County Code of Ordinances. The public hearing will be held in the Commissioners’ Meeting Room, Suite 220 of the Forsyth County Administration Building at 110 East Main Street, Cumming, Georgia 30040. The purpose of the public hearing shall be for public review and comment concerning a proposed modification to the records management program to update the County’s record retention schedule to ensure compliance with state law; to repeal conflicting ordinances; and for other purposes. All Forsyth County residents and any other affected and/or interested persons are invited and encouraged to attend.

UPDATE: The Board of Commissioners held the second public hearing on Thursday, September 16, 2021 on the proposed ordinance amendment, where the board adopted the ordinance amendment as presented. 

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

Notice is hereby given that on Thursday, September 16, 2021, at 5:00 p.m., the Forsyth County Board of Commissioners will hold a second public hearing to consider an amendment to the Forsyth County Alcohol Ordinance, otherwise known as Forsyth County Ordinance No. 68 or Article I, Chapter 6 of the Forsyth County Code of Ordinances. The public hearing will be held in the Commissioners’ Meeting Room, Suite 220 of the Forsyth County Administration Building. The purpose of the public hearing shall be for public review and comment concerning proposed modifications to the Alcohol Ordinance to include allowances for delivery of alcohol, to-go packaged alcohol, mixed drinks to-go, extension of Sunday alcohol sales hours, beverage tastings at retail package stores, manufacturer increased production and sales limits; and for other purposes. All Forsyth County residents and any other affected and/or interested persons are invited and encouraged to attend.
