FORSYTH COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
CALLED MEETING/WORK SESSION
APRIL 21, 2003
On Monday, April 21, 2003 at 3:06 p.m., in the Commissioners’ Conference Room of the Forsyth County Administration Building, the Forsyth County Board of Commissioners held a Called Meeting/Work Session with the following persons present: Jack Conway – Chairman, Marcie Kreager – Vice Chairman, Charles Laughinghouse – Secretary, David F. Pritchett – Member, Dane Perry – Assistant County Administrator, Walker Bramblett – Senior Staff Attorney, Renee Shepherd – Staff Attorney, Ken Jarrard – County Attorney, Angie Davis – County Attorney, John Cunard – Director of Engineering, Jeff Chance – Assistant Director of Planning & Development, Bill Johnson – Public Information Officer, Tim Perkins – Director of Water & Sewer, Barry Lucas – Deputy Director of Water & Sewer and Cindy Henderson – Deputy Clerk.
Commissioner Taylor was absent during this portion of the meeting.
There was a motion by Commissioner Pritchett and a second by Commissioner Kreager to call the meeting to order. Motion carried with four members in favor (Conway, Kreager, Laughinghouse and Pritchett) and one member absent (Taylor).
CHANGES TO AGENDA
ADD
Commissioner Pritchett requested that “Discussion regarding Michael Austin Sign Issue” be added to the agenda. Without objection, this item was added to the agenda.
There was a motion by Commissioner Pritchett and a second by Commissioner Kreager to adopt the agenda as amended. Motion carried with four members in favor (Conway, Kreager, Laughinghouse and Pritchett) and one member absent (Taylor).
Michael Austin Sign Issue
Michael Austin made a presentation to the Board regarding a sign issue at Advance Auto Parts (SR 9 & Shirlee Industrial Way). Dane Perry, Assistant County Administrator, suggested that Mr. Austin meet with Jeff Chance, Assistant Director of Planning & Development, and Ken Jarrard, County Attorney. There were no motions made.
Commissioner Taylor arrived at the meeting.
Private wastewater plants, community septic systems & other sewer needs
Tim Perkins, Director of Water & Sewer and Barry Lucas, Deputy Director of Water & Sewer, came before the Board to discuss private wastewater plants, community septic systems and other sewer needs. A Forsyth County Alternative Wastewater Service Policy dated April, 2003 was presented to the Board for their review. This item will be placed on the Work Session agenda of May 5, 2003 for further discussion.
There was a motion by Commissioner Pritchett and a second by Commissioner Kreager to adjourn. Motion carried with four members in favor (Conway, Kreager, Pritchett and Taylor) and one member absent (Laughinghouse).
