    Notice of Forysyth County's 2014 Byrne Grant Application

    NOTICE is hereby given that Forsyth County will be submitting a grant application to the United States Department of Justice, Office of Justice Programs’ Bureau of Justice Assistance for the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program. 

    The purpose of this Public Notice is to solicit comments from the public regarding the proposed use of the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program Funds from the U.S. Department of Justice in the amount of $22,301.  Forsyth County is not required to match these grant funds with local funds.  The grant funds are intended for training of Sheriff’s Office Uniform Patrol, Courts, and Detention personnel.  Law enforcement training will be conducted in the areas of mental health crisis intervention, active shooter response, and critical incident stress management. 

    In addition to this Public Notice documents detailing this grant-funded program will be available for citizen review at the Forsyth County Grants Manager’s Office at 110 East Main Street, Suite 255, Cumming, Georgia.
