July 26, 2012: The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) has announced overnight lane closures beginning July 25 on State Route 400 northbound at McFarland Parkway. The project will extend the third lane northbound from its current end north of McGinnis Ferry Road to the Big Creek Greenway Bridge, giving commuters two new miles of roadway in Forsyth County.
Overnight work begins July 25 and will continue every night that weather allows for at least two weeks. Weekday overnight work hours are 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. with work allowed to 8 a.m. Saturdays and 9 a.m. Sundays. One mile of the inside or left lane will be closed beginning one half mile south of McFarland Parkway. Daytime lane closures are not planned.
The project is only for northbound work, no work will occur on SR 400 southbound.
