GDOT Announces Maintenance Activities

June 22, 2012: The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) announces routine maintenance activities planned for next week in Barrow, Dawson, Forsyth, Gwinnett and Hall counties.  

Most activities will only require shoulder or median lane closures. An intermittent single lane closure and/or flagman will be utilized for asphalt patching. This is a tentative schedule; if emergency response is needed at a crash scene or if emergency repairs are necessary this schedule will change.   

WHEN: Daily Monday, June 25 through Friday, June 29 with work hours for mowing from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. if weather permits.  

WHAT and WHERE:   

Barrow
Mowing on SR 211  

Gwinnett
Vegetation maintenance on SR 8 in Lawrenceville 
SR 20 and SR 120 mowing the medians 
Guardrail repair and vegetation maintenance on SR 316  

Dawson
Vegetation maintenance on SR 136 and SR 52        

Forsyth 
Storm drain repair and asphalt patching on SR 400 (intermittent single lane closure required) and vegetation maintenance  

Hall
Mowing on SR 211
Ditch repairs on SR 53/Dawsonville Highway
Ditch repair and asphalt patching on SR 11 and SR 284 (intermittent single lane closure required for asphalt patching)      

Motorists should reduce their speed in these and all work zones.
