Young Mountaineers Camp at Sawnee Mountain Preserve Offers Summer Fun, Adventure

Camp is for children ages 4 to 6  

Summer fun and adventure await campers during Forsyth County Parks and Recreation Department’s Young Mountaineers Camp. The week-long, nature-themed camps are being offered throughout the summer at Sawnee Mountain Preserve.  

Young Mountaineers Camp is open to children ages 4 to 6. Attendees will explore the trails of Sawnee Mountain while learning about the plants and animals that live in the forest. Campers will hike, play nature-themed games, create crafts and have fun. Each week features a different theme:  

June 18-22:          Reptiles and Amphibians
June 25-29:          Native Americans
July 2-6:              Things with Wings (no camp July 4)
July 9-13:             Outdoor Adventures
July 16-20:           Going Green
July 23-27:           Rocks and Minerals
July 30-August 3:  Water Animals
