Commissioner Patrick Bell, elected in 2008 for the 2009-2012 term, is a political newcomer and won his campaign based on his “Professionalism & Teamwork” philosophies. It is his desire to build an atmosphere of cooperation with the City of Cumming, Forsyth County Board of Education, our state delegation and Chamber of Commerce. He wants to work together and produce solutions that will help address the difficult years that lay ahead to the benefit of all Forsyth County citizens.
A focus on bringing jobs and business to Forsyth County is a priority of Commissioner Bell and he has organized the Forsyth Leadership Committee where local leaders will meet and openly discuss related issues. Bell sees the need to maintain growth and diversify our tax base and is committed to find solutions.
Bell, a Forsyth County resident since 1999, is a small business owner in the apparel industry. He is active with the Boy Scouts of America as an assistant scoutmaster of Troop 254, an advisor of Crew 444, a committee member of Crew 413 and a unit commissioner, and is on the Etowah District Committee. Bell also serves on the Northeast Georgia Council Committee as a member of the Technology Committee and Camping Committee and is an advisor to the Venturer’s/Explorer’s Officers Association. Bell was a 2008 recipient of the BSA’s District Award of Merit, the highest award that can be presented to a district volunteer. Additionally, Bell is a member of Lanier-Forsyth Rotary where he serves as director of club activities and also serves on the Board of Trustees of Bethelview United Methodist Church.
