INVITATION TO BID

The Forsyth County Board of Commissioners will accept sealed bids until 2:00 p.m., Thursday, July 19, 2012 for the following:

Furnishing of all Labor, Equipment, and Materials necessary for full depth asphalt reclamation of Gilbert Road to construct a 22' driving surface and to provide 11' travel lanes from Trammel Road and ending at approximately 600' east of Old Atlanta Road (current intersection project under construction)

All work shall conform to Forsyth County standards latest revision, including all supplemental specifications.   This project shall be supervised directly by Forsyth County.

The Bidder is required to examine the sites of the proposed work, the Bid Specifications, Supplemental Specifications, Special Provisions, and Contract forms prior to submitting a Bid.

All work is to be completed by October 26, 2012.

The envelopes containing the Bids must be sealed, addressed to Board of Commissioners of Forsyth County, Georgia, delivered to the Forsyth County Procurement Department, 118 Castleberry Road, Suite 13, Cumming, Georgia 30040, and designated as Bid No. 12-58-3150 in the lower left hand corner.  No bids will be accepted after 2:00 p.m., July 19, 2012.

Copies of the bidding documents may be obtained at www.forsythco.com, on the right hand click on "Bids & Results" and then follow the directions provided to download documents (no cost). If a hard copy of the Bid Documents are required, they can be obtained at the office of the Forsyth County Procurement Department, 118 Castleberry Road, Suite 13, Cumming, GA 30040, Phone 770-888-8872.  A non-refundable fee of fifteen dollars ($15.00) will be charged for providing a hard copy.  

Each Bidder must deposit with his Bid, a Bid Bond, or a Certified or Cashier's Check to the order of the Forsyth County Board of Commissioners in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the amount bid and a Consent of Surety form from a surety company licensed to conduct business in the State of Georgia, engaging to furnish, upon award of the Contract, a Performance Bond and a Payment Bond.  The Performance Bond in a sum not less than one hundred percent (100%) and the Payment Bond In a sum not less than one hundred and ten percent (110%) of the total price bid for the completed work and the appropriate insurance certificate.

No Bidder may withdraw his Bid within 90 days after the actual date of the opening, thereof.

Award of bid will be made at a later date.  The Board of Commissioners reserves the right to reject any or all bids.  Bidders and the general public are invited to attend the bid opening, 2:05 p.m., Thursday July 19, 2012 at Forsyth County Procurement Department, 118 Castleberry Road, Suite 13, Cumming, Georgia.
