District 3 Commissioner to Hold Community Meeting March 22
On Wednesday, March 22, Chairman and District 3 Commissioner Todd Levent will host a Comprehensive Plan Update community meeting from 7 to 8 p.m. at Fowler Park Recreation Center, located 4110 Carolene Way in Cumming, to discuss the plan as it relates to District 3. Update: At their meeting March 20, 2017, the Board of Commissioners approved extension of the moratorium until June 18, 2017. The Forsyth County Board of Commissioners held a public hearing on January 19, 2017, and voted to extend the temporary moratorium until March 20, 2017. Public Hearing Regarding Possible Extension of Moratorium on LED/EMB Signage Upgrades
  Update: At their March 16, 2017 meeting, the Board of Commissioners approved to extend the moratorium until June 16, 2017. The Forsyth County Board of Commissioners held a public hearing on Thursday, December 15, 2016 and approved a 90-day extension, until March 17, 2017, of the emergency, 30-day moratorium adopted on November 17, 2016 barring the acceptance of applications for permits to upgrade non-conforming signs to Electronic Message Boards pursuant to Section 66-101(b) and (c) of the Forsyth County Code of Ordinances (Sign Ordinance, Ordinance 74, Section 4.1(b) and (c)). On Wednesday, March 15, District 4 Commissioner Cindy Jones Mills will host a Comprehensive Plan Update community meeting from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Coal Mountain Community Building, located within Coal Mountain Park at 3560 Settingdown Road, to discuss the plan as it relates to District 4. Forsyth County Offices and Facilities Closing at 3 p.m. Friday; Closed Saturday and Sunday
January 6, 2017: Due to current weather conditions, all general Forsyth County government offices will close today at 3 p.m. This early closure includes county government offices, the Forsyth County Courthouse and Courthouse Annex, the Animal Shelter, recycling convenience centers, Senior Services, and Forsyth County Parks & Recreation’s indoor and gated facilities. All Parks & Recreation programs and activities are cancelled.   Additionally, Forsyth County Parks & Recreation’s indoor and gated facilities, the recycling convenience centers and the Animal Shelter will be closed to the public Saturday and Sunday. The next step in Forsyth County’s Comprehensive Plan update process, Foster Forsyth, is a public hearing on Tuesday, September 27.
