Promotion available through October 31   The Forsyth County Animal Shelter has more than 150 cats and kittens who are in search of their forever home. Cynthia Iacopella has been named manager of the Forsyth County Animal Shelter and will join the county staff on June 19. As manager of Forsyth County’s animal shelter, Iacopella will supervise, coordinate and manage the daily activities of the animal shelter personnel. She will be responsible for the oversight of animal care, upkeep of the animal shelter facility, the animal adoption process and the shelter’s community outreach programs.   Iacopella brings to the position more than twenty years in the animal welfare industry. January 6, 2017: Due to current weather conditions, all general Forsyth County government offices will close today at 3 p.m. This early closure includes county government offices, the Forsyth County Courthouse and Courthouse Annex, the Animal Shelter, recycling convenience centers, Senior Services, and Forsyth County Parks & Recreation’s indoor and gated facilities. Community invited to attend family-friendly and pet-friendly event The Forsyth County Animal Shelter is hosting their second Spring Fling adoption event this Saturday, April 23, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Forsyth County Animal Shelter. The event will offer family-friendly and pet-friendly activities including a bounce house, water balloon toss, dog agility course, free food and more. For those bringing pets, microchipping will be available for $15 to the first 20 pet owners and for $25 for all others. Dogs Removed from Residence in Forsyth County to be Available for Adoption at Forsyth County Animal Shelter Beginning April 2
  Twenty-six dogs that were removed from a residence on Franklin Goldmine Road in Forsyth County in early February will be available for adoption at the Forsyth County Animal Shelter beginning Saturday, April 2.   The dogs, 12 puppies and 14 adults, are Chihuahua-Jack Russell terrier mixes. Of the puppies, five are females and seven are males. Of the adults, eight are females and six are males.   “The dogs have been seen by a veterinarian and are all doing well,” said Forsyth County Animal Shelter Manager Jeanie Curphey. “We look forward to finding each of them a forever home.”   The dogs have been housed ...

There’s no place like home for the holidays, and this season you can give one of the cats or dogs at the Forsyth County Animal Shelter his or her very own forever home.
