Award recognizes governmental accounting and financial reporting For the seventeenth consecutive year, Forsyth County has been awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA). 2016 Budget Adopted

At their November 19, 2015 meeting, the Forsyth County Board of Commissioners adopted the county’s 2016 operating budget. The 2016 General Fund budget totals approximately $108.92 million. The Forsyth County Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing Thursday, November 5 at 5 p.m. to present the proposed 2016 operating budget for Forsyth County. The hearing will be held in the Commissioners Meeting Room (Suite 220) in the Forsyth County Administration Building, located at 110 E. Main Street in Cumming. Forsyth County Receives Distinguished Budget Presentation Award
The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) has presented Forsyth County with the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for the county’s 2015 budget book. This marks the third consecutive year the county has received the award, which is the highest form of recognition in governmental budgeting and represents a significant achievement. In order to qualify for the award, a governmental entity must satisfy nationally recognized guidelines for effective budget presentation.
