Summer camp program is for rising seventh and eighth graders   The Forsyth County Fire Department invites Forsyth County youth interested in learning what it takes to be a firefighter to sign up for a free week-long daytime summer camp program. The Junior Fire Academy, which is for students entering seventh and eighth grade in August 2016, will be held Monday, June 6 through Friday, June 10. Support Keep Forsyth County Beautiful’s efforts and recycle your unused paint and old electronics Keep Forsyth County Beautiful (KFCB) invites residents to recycle their unused paint and old electronics during the upcoming paint and electronics recycling event. The event will be held on Saturday, April 16, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the City of Cumming Fairgrounds in parking lot 3 located at 235 Castleberry Road. Accepted items for the electronics recycling event include laptops, stereos, CD players, cell phones, printers, gaming consoles and controllers, fax machines and more. Community invited to attend family-friendly and pet-friendly event The Forsyth County Animal Shelter is hosting their second Spring Fling adoption event this Saturday, April 23, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Forsyth County Animal Shelter. The event will offer family-friendly and pet-friendly activities including a bounce house, water balloon toss, dog agility course, free food and more. Dogs Removed from Residence in Forsyth County to be Available for Adoption at Forsyth County Animal Shelter Beginning April 2
  Twenty-six dogs that were removed from a residence on Franklin Goldmine Road in Forsyth County in early February will be available for adoption at the Forsyth County Animal Shelter beginning Saturday, April 2.   The dogs, 12 puppies and 14 adults, are Chihuahua-Jack Russell terrier mixes. Of the puppies, five are females and seven are males. Of the adults, eight are females and six are males.   “The dogs have been seen by a veterinarian and are all doing well,” said Forsyth County Animal Shelter Manager Jeanie Curphey. “We look forward to finding each of them a forever home.”   The dogs have been housed ...

A wide variety of camp options will be offered this summer including recreation day camps, sports camps, adventure camps and specialty camps.  Summer Day Camps These week-long day camps at Central Park, Fowler Park and Old Atlanta Park will provide a structured schedule of indoor and outdoor activities including games, art, fitness, special guests and other fun theme related activities.
