The Forsyth County Board of Tax Assessors will hold their regular January meeting on Thursday, January 12, 2017, at 2:00 p.m.  The meeting will be held at the Forsyth County Administration Building located at 110 East Main Street, in Suite 260.

 

The purpose of the meeting will be for discussion and consideration of the items as outlined on the attached agenda and such other business as may properly come before the Board.

FORSYTH COUNTY BOARD OF TAX ASSESSORS

REGULAR MEETING

January 12, 2017

 

On Thursday, January 12, 2017, the Forsyth County Board of Tax Assessors held their regular meeting with the following persons present:  Charles Meagher, Chairman; Charles Cantrell, Vice-Chairman; Rick O’Brien, Member; Phil Winter, Member; and Ken Leach, Member; Christine Stallard, Personal Property Supervisor;  Mary Kirkpatrick, Chief Appraiser and Trassa Quarles, Secretary to the Board.

 

            ITEM I – CALL THE MEETING TO ORDER

 

Chairman Meagher called the meeting to order at 2:00 p.m.

 

            ITEM II – INVOCATION AND PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE

 

Invocation was given by Mr. O’Brien.

 

            ITEM III – ADOPTION OF THE AGENDA

 

There was a motion by Mr. Winter to adopt the agenda, as amended, with the following changes:

 

ADD:  ITEM VI-B-2 – Commercial Property Agreements

 

Motion was seconded by Mr. Cantrell.  Motion carried unanimously.

 

            ITEM IV – ELECTION OF OFFICERS FOR TAX YEAR 2017

 

Chairman - Mr. Leach nominated Mr. Winter.  Nomination was seconded by Mr. Cantrell.

 

Vice-Chairman – Mr. Winter nominated Mr. O’Brien.  Nomination was seconded by Mr. Cantrell.

 

Secretary – Mr. Winter nominated Ms. Quarles.  Nomination was seconded by Mr. Cantrell.

 

There was a motion by Mr. Meagher to close nominations and elect the officers as nominated.  Motion was seconded by Mr. Cantrell.  Motion carried unanimously.

 

ITEM V – ADOPTION OF MINUTES FROM DECEMBER 8, 2016, REGULAR MEETING

 

There was a motion by Mr. O’Brien to adopt the minutes of the December 8, 2016, regular meeting, as presented to the Board.  Motion was seconded by Mr. Leach.  Motion carried unanimously.

 

ITEM VI – NEW BUSINESS

 

ITEM A – PERSONAL PROPERTY

 

ITEM 1 – CORRECTIONS

 

There was a motion by Mr. Leach to approve the corrections, as presented to the Board.  Motion was seconded by Mr. Meagher.  Motion carried unanimously.

 

ITEM B – REAL PROPERTY

 

ITEM 1 – CORRECTIONS

 

There was a motion by Mr. O’Brien to approve the corrections, as presented to the Board.  Motion was seconded by Mr. Meagher.  Motion carried unanimously.

 

ITEM 2 – COMMERCIAL AGREEMENTS

 

There was a motion by Mr. Meagher to approve the Commercial Agreements, as presented to the Board.  Motion was seconded by Mr. Leach.  Motion carried unanimously.

 

ITEM C – VEHICLES

 

            ITEM 1 – CORRECTIONS

 

There was a motion by Mr. Meagher to approve the corrections, as presented to the Board.  Motion was seconded by Mr. Leach.  Motion carried unanimously.

 

ITEM VII – CLOSED SESSION

 

Not needed at this time.

 

ITEM VIII – ADJOURNMENT

 

With no further business to discuss, there was a motion by Mr. Meagher to adjourn the meeting.  Motion was seconded by Mr. Cantrell.  Motion carried unanimously.  Newly elected Chairman Winter adjourned this regular meeting of the Forsyth County Board of Tax Assessors of January 12, 2017, at 2:12 p.m.
