Major Transportation UpdateThe Department of Engineering held it's second public meeting on February 28, 2011 to discuss county-wide transportation needs as part of the ongoing Comprehensive Transportation Plan development for the county. The CTP, which includes the city of Cumming, is a blueprint designed to guide overall transportation development during a 20-year time period. Officials believe it is crucial to assess the current and future demands on the local infrastructure as residential and business growth is expected to more than double during the next 20 years. The CTP identifies strategies, projects, costs and funding sources to adequately serve the travel demand for the short, intermediate and long-range time frames. All modes of transportation are being evaluated. Public input is welcomed and encouraged. All comments and data concerning the Report will be reviewed by the county staff and consultant.
