Precinct Breakdown by
Commission/School District

Voting By Districts
Beginning with the July 20, 2010 General Primary, Forsyth County Commissioners and Board of Education Members started being voted on by district.  Prior to July 2010 County Commissioners and Board of Education Members were voted on countywide.  In July 2008 a Non Binding Referendum was put to the voters of Forsyth County.  As a result of the voter's response, the 2009 legislative session of the Georgia General Assembly passed House Bill 373 and House Bill 378, revising the County Charter to allow the election of County Commissioners and Board of Education Members by district. These bills were signed by the Governor on March 26, 2009 and went into effect with the 2010 General Primary and General Election.

Changes to Precinct Breakdowns Due to Redistricting
Congressional, State Senate, Georgia Representative, County Commission and County School Board District lines are currently based on population and redrawn ('reapportioned') after each U.S. census.  As a result of the 2010 census, district lines for all of the above have changed in Forsyth County and voters will be notified of these changes (post card Voter Registration Precinct postcards to be mailed to all Forsyth County registered voters mid to late - May 2012) so they can be aware of what district races will appear on their ballot in July and November.
