Required Filings for
Candidates and Elected Officials

All candidates and elected officials are required to file reports pertaining to their personal and campaign finances directly with the Georgia Government Transparency and Campaign Finance Commission (formerly known as the State Ethics Commission). All filings with the Commission are public record.

Please be advised: There are several different required filings which are subject to filing schedules, deadlines, grace periods, and fines per the Commission. Filings begin prior to the acceptance of campaign monies and continue until certain conditions are met and final reports are filed.

Refer to the Georgia Government Transparency and Campaign Finance Commission (formerly known as the State Ethics Commission) for all information including, filing and training schedules, and to get answers to any questions a candidate or an elected official may have about the required filings.

NOTE: Prior to January 1, 2011 the Forsyth County Voter Registrations and Elections office was responsible for collecting these reports; however, as of January 1, 2011 all reports are to be filed directly with the Commission.
